Hello,
Few days ago I just bought brand new 19.5" 'FT200HQL bmjj' and after the first hour of use it started to experience what can best be described as random "phantom/ghost" touches. The touchscreen registers random touches but while no one is actually touching it. The only temporary solution I've found so far is to unplug and plug back in the power source. But shortly after that the problem reappears.
I plan to buy 4 more monitors but if they all come with this builtin "feature", then I'll be forced to return the one I already bought and to look somewhere else. I've done some research on the Internet and it appears that it is well known problem, experienced by many buyers. I hope strongly I won't feel sorry I didn't look at the buyer reviews earlier.
I already searched through the knowledge base and the community and found no answer. I've even contacted one of the official Acer services in my country and they haven't told me anything useful, just that they will replace the monitor indefinitely while the issue persist. But the truth is that I need a working monitor not a weeks, even months of tiresome repairs and replacements, while I stay monitorless. So, is there any known solid fix for this issue?
The computer is a standard Lenovo desktop running Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. All drivers and OS updates are up-to-date. The only Acer monitor drivers for this model are for Windows 8 so I am relying on the ones provided by Microsoft.
Thank you in advance.
