My laptop crashes when I'm playing games.

Also it overheats like crazy.

Also my temperature for GPU is high - it's currently showing 80c without GAMES.

I think this temp gets over 90c when I turn on games.

I got this laptop only 6 months ago and...this is uncomfortable.

    Help fix.

Speedfan on a notbook is not a good idea. Do you have overclocked your rig?

I don't use SpeedFan to accelerate or improve anything...

Just look at the temperature that it shows - It's about 80c without any activity .

Turned on a game and it's peaking around 95c and more. One more degree to that and it's auto-shutdown...

    Something about NOISE.

Now I think that Fan is not-so-active relative to GPU usage...

I don't hear loud noise when I'm playing games.. stragenly...

You practically answered you question for youself. That's of course the reason for high temperature.

But this is abnormal, isn't it?

I bought my laptop only 6 months ago.

I didn't have same experience when I was using Samsung.

I might be wrong but is it normal with Acer to overheat? (or fan not working properly?)

I have an older Aspire laptop with no fan ativity at all. I replaced the fan and the new one doesn't work either. I was told to replace motherboard next. Is that sound advice?

Of course it is not normal. You may have a hardware fault or simply something very wrong configured. You could use a Linux live CD to look if your hardware is working with Linux as you expect. What means whether the fan is working.

Overheating continues and I'm still looking for solutions.

    Should I update my BIOS?

    Which one should I pick?
