I recently got a T232HL monitor refurbished from Secondipity.com. It came without a diskette for drivers or any software. So I downloaded the driver package for Win 7 64-bit and tried to use it to update my display driver, using instructions from another user in the community. It would not install no matter what I tried - Windows tells me that the generic Windows driver is up to date and will not update it. It may be because the Acer drivers date from 2012, and my Windows generic monitor.sys driver dates from 2013.
Do you have any advice for what to do now? I would like to have the real Acer driver, because it should produce the full range of Acer functionality for this monitor.
Also, the driver package posted for the T232HL on Acer's US site (and other sites too) does not appear to be a real driver. It contains an INF file plus two HCTX files. Another post on this site identifies these as HCTX driver submission files that are turned in to Microsoft for certification, not user-installable drivers. What's going on here?
