Win 7 driver for T232HL monitor

I recently got a T232HL monitor refurbished from Secondipity.com.  It came without a diskette for drivers or any software. So I downloaded the driver package for Win 7 64-bit and tried to use it to update my display driver, using instructions from another user in the community.  It would not install no matter what I tried - Windows tells me that the generic Windows driver is up to date and will not update it. It may be because the Acer drivers date from 2012, and my Windows generic monitor.sys driver dates from 2013.

Do you have any advice for what to do now? I would like to have the real Acer driver, because it should produce the full range of Acer functionality for this monitor.

Also, the driver package posted for the T232HL on Acer's US site (and other sites too) does not appear to be a real driver. It contains an INF file plus two HCTX files. Another post on this site identifies these as HCTX driver submission files that are turned in to Microsoft for certification, not user-installable drivers. What's going on here?

PS: The Control Panel  Tablet PC Settings app also tells me for my Acer T232HL display that "No pen or touch input is available for this display".  However I am able to move around icons on the screen with touch input.

I have the T232HL set up as the principal monitor, with one non-touch monitor as the secondary monitor, under a Win 7 64-bit Ultimate operating system.

    hi..

The T232HL monitor is a plug and play device and does not require any driver when connected with windows 7 operating system.
You need to only connect the USB cable provided with the monitor to the USB 2.0 port on the computer to enable touchscreen functionality.

If you wish to install the monitor drivers, you may download and install it. The driver at Acer support website does not have an setup.exe file, it hjas only one T232HL setup information file for window 7. You need to update this driver from device manager,

Here's the steps to download and  install the monitor driver : Monitor Driver

Right-click the downloaded ZIP-file and then click Extract All Files. Double-click the folder that has the same name as the downloaded file. The folder will contain the files needed for the driver installation.

From the Start menu, type device manager in the search box and press Enter,  Click the + sign in front of Monitors. The connected monitors will display.
At least one will be named Generic PnP Monitor or Plug and Play Monitor, Right click this entry, and select Update Driver Software.
You will see a Update Driver Software wizard, Select Browse my computer for driver software.
In the next window, click Browse and navigate to the folder containing the monitor driver files. Click OK when this folder is selected.,
Back in the Update Driver Software wizard, click Next. Windows will now search for the driver and install it automatically. When done, click Finish.

Thank you, but when I tried doing exactly this, my PC refused to update the driver, telling me that my driver is up to date.  Do you have any solution for that?
