Acer 500 tablet will not boot

I am exhausted! Spent hours trying to find a solution to my frozen Acer A500 and have come up with the following results: 1. Acer Corperation could care less

           2. I bought a lemon (actually bought two A500s)

           3. There is no fix unless I spend more than the units worth

           4. I will never reccomend Acer products again

           5. I will never purchase Acer products again

Thanks,

Quinte Guy

    Hi Quinte Guy,

The freezing at the Acer logo means that there is an issue. If you've tried the software fixes available and you're still unable to get past this scree it points to a hardware issue. It could be anything from the storage, to RAM, to the mainboard itself. We do offer out of warranty repair options, however we understand that is some cases it may be more cost effective to replace product rather than repair it. It's one of the side effects of technology getting as cheap as it is.

If I can help with out of warranty service, feel free to message me.

    Thanks,
    Cory

Cory... I've read enough on line to realise I bought a lemon. The Iconia has a reputation of lasting about a year and a half then freezing on the boot up. Literally hundreds of people with the same problem. The sad part is that it is a great tablet. Too bad your techies can't come up with a rational reason for this breakdown. I will not put anymore money into it and I will never buy or reccomend an ACER product again. I've already thrown it in the trash where it belongs.

My A500 just "bricked" this past weekend.  Up until then it was working fine, and I really liked it. Nice features and connectivity with the USB ports.  Not cheap at the time of purchase, but worth it in my mind in Jan 2012.

I tried all of the reset variations with no change.  I just got watch the little Android fall on it's back, with the red triangle several times.

After reading various threads from back in 2012, I realize this is very common, and that Acer ceased doing anything back in April 2014.

2 1/2 years might have seen many changes in electronic devices, but I have a 10 year old Toshiba PC that stills performs a useful task.  This tablet has NO moving parts... no fan, harddrive or CD drive.  My wife's original Nook Color is still performing just fine after 3 1/2 years, so I know it is possible to build reliable electronic devices that last, I guess Acer is not up to that task.
