    Hello,

    I suggest you try this:

1- To do a Clear Cmos with the jumper and to check

2- To flash under DOS (only) the lastest version of bios P01.A2 and to check

If you have always the same issue, that means your motherboard is defective.

    Hello wifikid,

You need a good clean of the heatsink with an air duster or a spray duster. It may be full dust like your case.

The cooling is not done. "65-75°C" you reach the maximum temperature of the cpu.

This post I wrote to you, after all cleaned and greased thermal paste.
Now my computer is not a single speck of dust .... but the problem is still there.
I read a lot about that .... I was told that maybe some error on the chipset drivers.

    What's your heatsink model:

    HI.10800.006HEATSINK.CPU
    HI.3670C.001HEATSINK.W/FAN.4K2.CPU

You said 4500 RPM but the maximum speed is 4200 RPM.

Do you hear the fan "turning" at full speed?

Have you try to  load the "Default settings" or "Optimazed settings" in bios setup utility?

This rate shows the utility - SpeedFan. Maybe she's wrong.
But the fan is fully functional, and can run quietly...if he was not given a command to cool 75 degrees Celsius.
The fan turns on full immediately after turning on the computer.

I know ! I tried the bios as well ! I have also replaced the heat sink and fan - no luck there either. I tried resetting windows to the factory settings but have created lots of other problems now - as in the computer will not reboot ! Oh well. Wasted hours !!

I will let you know if I fix it!

**bleep**, now is always the speed of 2500 rpm.

And the temperature Temp3 (CPU) - 65-70 degrees Celsius.

It helped, fan now revolves less...but the temperature is still critically high...

    Hello wifikid,

I give you the procedure to flash your bios under DOS (Aspire M3800 - Bios P01-A2):

To flash the bios with MS-DOS:

1- Make a MS-DOS Bootable USB Flash Drive (see note) with FlashBoot (Demo) or HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool

2- Download the bios file.zip and unzipped it.

3- Copy all files contained in the DOS folder (from AFUDOS.EXE to Y.txt) and the ROM folder on the USB flash drive.

4- Boot on the USB flash drive (see the note).

5- When you are on MS-DOS, type the command FLASH1M.BAT

6- If it's flashing successfully, reboot your system (normally, it reboot automatically).

7- Enter on the bios setup utility, "Load optimazed defaults" or "Load default settings".

--- If you have a doubt, do not hesitate to ask me questions ---

    Note:

Flashboot: Map to A: selected --> you'll see it like a FDD or USB FDD

Map to C: selected --> You'll see it like a HDD or USB HDD

HP: By default, Letter C --> you'll see it like a HDD or USB HDD

It exists a portable version of Flashboot Demo 2.2e (no install).

    Hello wifikid,

I'm glad to see that you solved your issue ("fingers crossed"). Wait and see for one week...

What are the temperature and the fan speed of cpu in normal use?

I thank you for your kudos and your compliments. Like we say in french " j'ai les chevilles qui enflent! Smiley Wink"

Yes, all is well. 1000 rpm.
A temperature of about 40, and sometimes 50.
    Watch one week ...

    Hello wifikid,

As your CPU has overheated, I advise you to test it with this tool:

    Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool (32-bit)

    Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool (64-bit)
