Check the right front edge for a toggle button. There may also be an LED that should be lit.

ok  i am not really technically minded. there is a light which flashes orange intermittently.  is that the toggl button you are referring to.  on the manual it shows that as WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SWITCH

Check the image below (when it's been moderator-approved) in section number 5. Your system may or may not have the hardware and LED depending on the mfr date/option but should have the switch if the bluetooth NFC hardware is installed.

HI.  yes when i switch it on a blue light shows but then i get the warning below

This copy of BlueSoleil is not licensed and is not eligible to receive the full range of product support. BlueSoleil is running in evaluation mode now and only 2MB data can be transferred.

All that means is that you have a free evaluation copy of the BlueSoleil phone transfer software installed. This free version is limited to transferring photos less than 2MB in size. Which isn't too bad unless you're trying to transfer a bunch of high resolution photos. Why not try it out, its free?  Click on Start. Then click All Programs. And look for Blue Soleil. Then click on it and see how it works. If you really like it, you can purchase a full version of Blue Soleil with all the bells and whistles for a nominal fee. Or you can Google the terms "phone transfer software" "freeware" "windows 7" with the quotation marks and try some other free transfer software including Blackberry's own version at http://blackberry-desktop.en.lo4d.com/

it's not on my laptop.  maybe it was deleted when i upgraded from xp to windows 7.  when that dialogue window opens up telling me i can only transfer up to 2mb data and i click on ok,  it disappears.   if i click on register i must enter a licence key.   i think i will try that link.

thank you so very much for all you help, patience and advice.  i will let you know how i get on with that link for blackberry.

    thanks again. enjoy your weekend

good day.  i was telling my sister about this blue soleil not being on my laptop and because she knows more about computers than i do, told me to click on START and type in SERVICES and then SEARCH.  and when it finds SERVICES i must click on it.  which i did and found blue soilel. so i  am happy to tell you because of your help i am now able to pair my bb with my laptop.  i am going to check how much it costs to buy the program.

thanks once again for your help.
