How can I get Switchable Graphics to work with Windows 8 on Aspire Timeline 5810TG?

Hey Everybody,

I've been looking all over the Web to find a way to make Intel Switchable Graphics work on my Aspire Timeline 5810TG with Windows 8 (64Bit).

This is vey sad because only with the Radeon 4330 working the battery time of the 5810 is way below the Windows 7 Level.

I'd be very thankful for any kind of suggestions!

Thanks.

Sorry. I suggest that you re-install the factory-shipped Windows version.

And why is that? Only because of problems with the switchable cards, or because there will be problems with other hardware (lack of drivers? Incompatible Software?)

I found a MODDED BIOS that permits the selection between INTEGATED / ATI, and i can see now why ACER did not release such an option: the 5810TG won't reboot properly if INTEGRATED is selected! (works fine though, as the SO recognizes only 1 card, and the other will presumably will stay turned off, not drawing any power).

So... was i better off buying the T model (CHEAPER, without the ATI card)? I suppose!

I don't need the ATI card, and i'm stuck with Windows 7 forever?? Bad... very bad!
