Acer S5 SSD problem

Hi everybody!

I'm experiencing the following problem on my 1-year old acer S5. It started freezing completely very often, sometimes even BSODing, after reboot I get notifications about SSD-related errors. Sometimes immediately at the boot I get Intel Rapid Storage Technology invitation to open "Optional ROM", which shows that one of the two 128GB drives forming RAID-0 failed (by the way, it is sometimes a failure in the first of the two drives, sometimes, in the second); or after loading Windows Intel RST application shows that one drive out of the two failed, with the option "mark as normal", which works and seems not to do anything. No data seem to be lost, in the event viewer the events are

Sometimes it is "SATA SSD on Controller 0, Port 1: Failed.", not Port 0.

"Verification" inside Intel RST app showed "no errors", memtest86 says that RAM is ok as well.

OS is Windows 8.1, updated some time ago, was working good for quite a while.

What could that be, and how to fix it? Is the SSD almost dead, or that is some other problem?

Thanks for help in advance!

Best regards,

Order some recovery software from Acer and reload. If you are still having problems, then you may need repair.
