Hi,
I have found many occurrences of a "warning" in my System log for Btfilter claiming that the firmware is old or out of date - presumably related to the Atheros Bluetooth device in my laptop.
The warning actually states: "The driver has detected that device \Device\ATHAMPFL has old or out-of-date firmware. Reduced performance may result."
I've asked Acer Support for help but all they did was a) suggest I installed the latest drivers (which I did and already had) then b) reset to factory condition (after backing up my data etc etc), and when I queried how this would help as I had observed the condition only a few days after purchasing and initialising the device, they suggested c) send it in for repair!
As Acer certainly haven't a clue that they are prepared to share with me, has anyone else seen these warnings and if so has anyone got any thoughts on how to resolve the situation?
Kind regards, Stefan
Here's a printout of the entry in the System log:
