Looks like I have to replace it. Am I better off buying it myself and getting a local computer shop to fit it, or let the shop get and fit it ? Any recommended motherboard sellers in the uk or does it have to be Acer ? Also given that the power only stays on for 3 seconds how do I check exactly which motherboard I need.
Thanks

    Hello Simon_evans,

Herewith the part numbers of the motherboards for Aspire One 522:

    PCB.MAIN BOARDMB.SES02.001MAIN BD.W/C50.W/O.3G
    PCB.MAIN BOARDMB.SES02.002MAIN BD.W/C50.W/3G
    PCB.MAIN BOARDMB.SFH02.001MAIN BD.W/C60.WO/3G
    PCB.MAIN BOARDMB.SFH02.002MAIN BD.W/C60.W/3G

You'll check the exact part number on the label like this (example MB.PT401.001):

If you use the windows pre-installed version, it's necessary to buy an Acer part (new or refurbished).

You'll find resellers with an search engine (ebay, amazon, etc)
