Liquid E3 duo, 1.016 update available

A new OTA update is available for EMEA_GEN1 version (136MB), if it doesn't appear on your E3, be patient since it needs to be available on your region. (at the moment is OTA only, update is not available on Acer support website)

you can check manually: system settings/about phone/system update

Remember to have a microSD inside your device, battery at least charged at 50% and some patience during update process, it will re-boot 3 times. Smiley Wink

no changelog available.

I've received the update notification on my E3 but have questions. What does the update contain? The first update was small, about 8mb... this is huge by comparison. Hopefully focussing in the main comera (soft images) is sorted anf focus hunting on video.

Also i may have disabled apps but not deleted... would that mess with the update download as with Ionn"s comment.

    Thanks.

I have not rooted or deleted any system application. My changelog is the same as the one displayed to you, so it is updated? But I just had an error at the end of my update. Maybe I was confused, because I expected for Kitkat. Sorry for my English and thanks for your answer!

@kerridge: i don't know, yes the update is bigger than the last, we must look around and see if we notice something new or hope that Acer will release a changelog.

Disabling applications will not harm the OTA updates.

@lonn: if the system informations are as on the screenshot, your device is updated. The "update failed" message is not good, maybe you can check if you can re-download the update and try to reflash.

if your system is stable, by the way i will not worry.

About kitkat, i think we must wait at least september, just my thoughts.

Have a same problem as Ionn has.
The phone says that a new system update avalible with size of 136 Mbytes.

After downloading the phone asks for rebooting. I accept it, then it reboots, the green droid appears for 3 mins. Then it reboots again and says that update has been failed.

Device wasn't rooted, a new clean 1Gb microSD was inserted before the update.

    About phone:
    Android version 4.2.2

    Baseband version MOLY.WR8.W1248.MD.WG.MP.V5.P47, 2014/02/26 13:42

    Kernel version 3.4.5 st2@st2-srv #1 Thu Mar 27 17:58:38 CST 2014

    Build number Acer_AV052_E380_1.012.00_EMEA_GEN1

    Custom build version 1395914352

Is there any way to get update logs and recheck what's wrong?

A log will be for sure but i don't know where.
Your update failed completly since the build number is the old one.

Normally it fails if you rooted or deleted any system application or battery not charged at requested level or corrupted updates files.

Just to confirm that 1.016 downloaded and updated from 1.012 with no problem and was fairly quick on a 3G connection.

I live in RSA and tried to register with .co.za address which was not accepted, so i had to registered in UK with my Gmail address as my phone was imported through Orange

    Thanks  K

    Thanks, IronFly.

You're right. I'd charged the battery to 100% and removed PIN check. Just updated with no problem to the new version.

Chaps, always charge to 100% before update! Smiley Happy
