V3 772G - Can you disable the touchpad?

I am thinking about ordering this machine from NewEgg. It's 1099 right now. I'm write code for a living and typically use a mouse. I would like to be able to disable the touchpad. I know some keyboards allow this. Of all the pictures I've seen I haven't been able to see if there is a shortcut key to do this on the V3 772G series. I have seen posts here that other keyboards have this option but nothing I could find specific to this series of laptops. I know they do not have backlighting and also don't sport the caps-lock/num-lock indicator lights. I can live with that but the touchpad feature is kind of necessary for me for about 70% of my usage.

Yes, you can disable the touchpad. The Fn + F7 keys disable it. But you should be aware that the device you want to buy has some hardware issues. Currently, there is no solution to prevent the display from flickering, if the brightness level is lower than 70-100%. There are some other issues, mainly stability related. You should read this forum before you buy.

Wow. I didn't know that. Darn it. I've been search for about a month for a new laptop and had narrowed it down to 3 (this Acer, one Asus and one MSI). But the Asus only had a resolution of 1600x900 and a glossy screen (which I do not want) and the MSI had really bad keyboard flex (a pet peeve of mine) and was about $100 more.

But my new laptop has to be rock solid as it'll be getting a lot of work over the next couple of months. I can't take a chance on a machine with known but unfixable issues.
