I have a n Acer V3-551, [edited for privacy], that when powered on will only show the Acer screen and will not go on to windows. I can F2 into bios but that is about it. The machine is literally 2 days out of warranty and the problem started 5 days ago( daughter uses it for school) I tried to power it on and hit F8 to get to the windows boot menu, but it does nothing. Is there any idea as to what could be causing this, the notebook has been great up until this point and I purchased it direct from Acer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, this is a windows 8 system, and I get no error messages, just the green Acer screen. The hard drive light does come on and will go solid for a bit, but it just flashes after a minute or so and the flash is every 30 seconds or so.

    hi...

You may try performing a  power reset:

Unplug the AC adapter from your notebook.Turn the notebook over to remove the battery.
Turn the notebook back over and open it, Hold down the power button for 30 seconds, then release the power button.
Turn the notebook back over and slide the battery back into place, Slide the lock tab back into the lock position.
Turn over the notebook one last time and plug in your AC adapter, Turn on your notebook and check if the issue is resolved.

Just performed what you described and there is no change. The screen still reads "Acer explore beyond limits"

DId you ever create a system repair disk and/or usb drive?

If not you can find one on the net for Windows 8 and use it to repair your system.

You can also use the OS installation which should have an option to fix it while keeping old data.

    Regards.

    Hi..

You may try a BIOS reset on the laptop.

Here are the steps to do this.

Turn on the laptop and keep tapping the F2 key to enter into the BIOS.
Press the F9 key and then select "Yes" to save the configuration.
Then press the F10 key and select "Yes" to save the changes in BIOS.
The computer will restart now. Check for the issue.

If the issue isn't fixed, you may contact Acer support team for further options.
