Hi there,

I need your help with my Acer V7 582P 54204G50tkk, OS win 8.1 64bit.

I'm overall happy with V7 laptop, but touchpad is not working the way I'd like it to. I have very hard time scrolling with two fingers - it's almost impossible because due to multitouch gestures it usually zooms in instead of scrolling the page. It also bothers me when I move around on touchpad edge gestures often bring up windows search menu from the right edge etc. ALL IN ALL I need your help with disabling multitouch gestures, because I'm conviced it would solve most of my issues with touchpad. I checked out I have installed ALPS pointing device, but I'm missing an option to adjust gestures. I saw it should look like this http://www.eightforums.com/attachments/drivers-hardware/9967d1351286973-windows-8-alps-touchpad-driver-alps.png  but obviously I have newer driver on my laptop and there's no such option. Can you help me guys? What can I do?

Update: the biggest issue is the scrolling and I just found out Chrome is causing the trouble. Anyone any ideas? Have u had similar problems with Chrome and two fingers scrolling?

    Hi.

Try following the below steps to change the touchpad settings.

Press and hold the Windows key and then press the X key. Click Control Panel.

    Click on 'Hardware and Sound'.

    Then select "Mouse".

A new window named as "Mouse Properties" will pop up.

At the top of the "Mouse Properties" window, you will see a tab named as "ELAN" or "Device Settings".

====>> If it's ELAN, click on ELAN->Options. You will get a window where you can disable the multigusture settings. You may disable the settings whatever you want.

====> If it's Device Settings tab, click on it, select Settings and then change the settings.

After that, click Apply and OK.

Thanks, but as I said I don't have ELAN touchpad, but ALPS. Plus I tried the exact instructions, went through control panel and at the end finally found settings for ALPS touchpad gestures, but I could only change 'zoom in' option and even after I changed it, Chrome and Opera still didn't work and when scrolling with two fingers it'd go crazy. Only browsers that work for me are IE and Firefox, but Firefox has another issue - doesn't support 1920x1080 resolution. Don't know why, but it looks awful. I didn't find edge gestures so I didnt adjust that, but it doesn't bother me that much. Either way I guess I'm gonna use wireless mouse instead. Touchpad isn't bad, but it seems browsers like Chrome doesn't work well with it, so it's either touchscreen or wireless mouse. Thanks for your answer anyway. Smiley Wink  I wish I could find out why two fingers scrolling goes crazy in Chrome and Opera, but works well e.g. in PDF files and other browsers I mentioned.
