Aspire R7-572 Poor Wifi when connected to external monitor using HDMI

Hi All and Acer Engineers -

I came across something that took me the better part of a day to trace.

I have a R7-572-6423 that I really love. There are two of them in the family. I recently upgraded my home WiFi that was dual band 2.4 GHz and 5Ghz Wifi-n. I notice good performance on my wife's R7 but I could not connect using mine.

After a lot of trial and error. I determined that whenever I had my second monitor connected to the HDMI plug. That I was unable to connect to the 5Ghz wifi channel. (External monitor is a Dell U2212HM running at 1920 x 1080).

I was able to connect poorly wth the 2.4 GHz but the performance was severely degraded.

If I unplug the HDMI external monitor the wifi connectivity returns to normal with good performance on the 2.4 and 5 GHz frequency.

Can others try to replicate this?

Thanks

Same thing happens to me on my acer.  Just got it a week ago and the wifi is slow.  My signal bars go up fom 2 to 4 when I disconnect my external monitor as well.
