Acer 5740-6378 Restore DVD not working but OEM install works

I replaced the HDD which failed in this machine with a 1 TB disc.  I got the Restore/rescue DVD but fails every time.  I got a second set from acer but they also fail.  (I have attached pictures of the screen)  I used a copy of windows 7 which I was able to installed (I did not activate it beccause the license is for another machine) and it worked perfectly.  I loaded all the drivers and it worked just fine so I believe is not a hardware problem.  I also loaded Linux and works great.

Any suggestions as to what else I could try?error 1error 2

    hi...

You may delete the partition and leave the space unallocated, then use  the recovery disc and boot the computer to reload the operating system

Hi. Thanks for replying. I have tried the following: hdd straight up with installation, formating the drive to fat32 and letting the installer erase it and format it properly, same as wuth NTFS, i have erased all oartitions, i have made it RAW file system, i have created partitions but left them blank and also partitions formated as above. Iy alwyas fails as the pictures show in my previous msg. It is curious that the OEM disc works just fine as well as Linux so i think the way the restore disks are made is the problem. Acer wont help me further unless i pay them $99 but they do not guarantee the oroblem will be fixed...

is the WIN7 disk that you got to work an OEM version? is it the same level version (pro/basic etc) as your original? if both are true then when it asks for the product key use the one on your sticker on the bottom of your unit and you should be good to go.
