Hi,

I'd like to install a ssd in this laptop. Is there an msata slot or only the sata bay where the hdd is installed now?

Thanks in advance,

Michael

    MGhysels,

I show that the V5-473P does have an option to ship with a SSD on some configurations we sell. If you model did not ship with one originally, I cannot guarantee if it has a mSATA port. If it does have an mSATA port, it may be deactivated as it was not configured by Acer with a SSD.

We can only support the system as shipped, however, you are more than welcomed to check for a mSATA connector and test to see if it is active. I am sure your results would be greatly appreciated by other community members with the same question.

    Hi,

Thanks for the info! I opened the laptop and found out that there is an msata slot soldered on the motherboard. I also checked the bios, it listed a hdd 0 and hdd 1. Does this mean that the msata slot is wired or could there be another sata connector on the motherboard?

    Greetings,

    Michael

If you are showing two HDDs installed, then the mSTAT connector is currently occupied by a SSD.
