I just checked with Crucial Advisor Tool. Only Aspire X1420G-U5832 supports 8GB but not the others models (only 4GB).

I think it's the CPU makes the difference of memory capacity.

    Hello Scum,

For Aspire X1420G desktop, look this document.

    Memory:

    4096MB DDR3 Dual-Channel SDRAM Memory

    (2 x 2048MB); Expandable to 8GB

    2 DDR3 Slots (Total) | 0 DDR3 Slots (Available)

It exist only one model of motherboard:

    MB.SG901.001MAIN BD.MCP61P.LF

Just to confirm, the maximum support memory for the Aspire X1420G is 4GB.

Here is the section from our service guide.

    Hi laurent,

I'm going to go with our manual. The guide you show is old and is not necessarily put together by a technical team, rather a sales team so a mistake could have occurred. Also, based on the age of the system, it's much more likely that the system only supports 4GB of ram. Could there be a specific MB that works for the ASX1420G that support 8GB? Yes, but as a whole, Acer will have to stick with the system supports 4GB, and if 8GB happens to work great, but we can't say that it will.
