Acer Iconia A701, wifi greyed out, not working

I have an Acer Iconia A701. Recently we took it overseas, hubby wanted to get up-to-date weather info so changed country to Singapore (we live in Australia). Wifi stopped working - the on/off slider is greyed out. I have done a soft and hard reset (several times) and when I do, the Welcome screen shows Singapore as our default country. I have changed it to Australia, not working, left it as Singapore, not working, tried changing it to KL and USA, still not working. When I reset the tablet, before I do anything else, if I go into settings, sometimes I can slide the wifi slider to on, but it just hangs at "Turning Wi-Fi on". 3G works fine, but no wi-fi - any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you did a hard reset and it still isn't working, it may be the wifi chip/card. I would contact Acer and see if they can repair it.
