Aspire V5-551 - device manager doesnt show touchpad after driver deinstallation and win 8.1. upgrade

Dear friends!

After I installed Win 8.1 (64-bit) and deinstalled the old driver of the touchpad to install the new afterwards (scrolling didnt work properly after Win 8.1. upgrade, but touchpad was found) now the Elan touchpad doest get found by device manager anymore.

I deinstalled the old Win-8 driver in divice manager myself and installed the new Win 8.1. (64-bit) driver afterwards. But the device (touchpad) doesnt get found or at least it doesnt get shown by the device driver.

Via desktop --> config --> mouse settings there is still the ELAN chapter. It still shows the old driver version (despite several installations of the new one). Furthermore, no device, no touchpad is shown there either.

Fn+F7 etc. doesnt change anything. That's not the solution. Touchpad is not to be found by Windows as it seems.

Please, what can I do?

Clean install of the touchpad? How?

Any suggestion will be appreciated, but please not "re-install system". Smiley Wink

Thank you very much!

Sincerely yours,

Zakk

P.S.: External USB-Mouse works, but I like to work this way. Thx.

    hi...Smiley Happy

The touchpad device would be displayed under mice and pointing devices in device manager.
You may restore the correct touchpad driver from Acer erecovery management.

Use the following steps to reinstall a driver or application on your computer:
Press the Windows  key to open the Start screen.
Type Recovery in the search box.
Click Acer Recovery Management in the search resultsIf asked to allow the program to make changes, click Yes.
    Click Reinstall Drivers or Applications.
On the Contents tab, locate the Elan driver or application you wish to install and click the Install icon.
Follow the prompts to install the touchpad driver.
