Steps:

1. Create a bootable USB drive
You can do this with a tool like Rufus: http://rufus.akeo.ie/
-Test that the laptop boots with the USB in place before next steps
-If it boots, turn off the laptop and remove the USB

2. Go to Acer website
   http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers

3. Download 5250 BIOS data/files
-search on product model: Aspire 5250
  -Note:
The download for the 5250 only had a Q5WP6108_Silent.exe file

    * I had to turn of Comodo virus tool which blocked the download

After downloading it, right click on it and extract the files into a folder
The only file needed will be the Q5WP6X64.fd

4. Download 7250 BIOS data/files as there are two files needed which exist there
-search on product model: Aspire 7250
  -Note:
The zip file name was 'BIOS_Acer_1.10_A_A.zip'

The files needed from this are:
       fla**bleep**.exe and Update.bat

They can be found in: BIOS_Acer_1.10_A_A.zip\BIOS_Acer_1.10_Windows\DOS

5. Put these files onto the USB:
    fla**bleep**.exe
    Update.bat
    Q5WP6X64.fd

6. Edit the update.bat file and change the BIOS name of the .FD to match the BIOS file name.
Example of Update.bat for the Aspire 5250 after chaning it:
    @ECHO OFF
    fla**bleep**  Q5WP6X64.fd /s /all

7. Plug the USB into the laptop, plug in power (required)

8. Turn on PC

9. Type update.bat and press enter, then wait till it is finished

This worked for me, Good luck !

After posting, I noticed that this site made some changes.  Note that    fla**bleep**.exe  was fla**bleep** (dot exe).

I suspect that is meant to be flash_it and remove the underscore.
