V7 482PG Win 8.1 Touchscreen made useless by phantom random touches

I have been a fan of Acer since early XP days, but this V7, my 5th Acer computer, is the biggest disappointment, and probably the last Acer product I will ever buy.

I am typing this on a different computer because a few minutes after every time I boot up my V7, random touches start happening all over the screen. Apps launch, text gets deleted, music plays as more and more things get activated by these random, phantom touches.

I have tried all of the suggestions I could find on this forum. Many don't apply to Win 8.1. The ones that do, don't make any difference. I have paid an enormous amount of money and invested an enormous amount of time in a laptop I can only use for 2-3 min between reboots.

If anyone is experiencing the same problem, please leave a reply here.

If anyone, especially an Acer employee, has a solution, please, please, please post it here.

I am one valium short of pitching this *^(&^*(&*^* piece of *^*^&** through the nearest window.

Full conclusion: It is the worst computer I have ever owned.

After a week of struggling with the random phantom touches, the hard drive crashed. Recovery, reset, etc. just end with either "please wait" or a black screen.

Complete fail. This one's going back and I'm shopping for another company's product.
