v5 531 hard drive crash

I bought an Acer v5 531 3 months ago.  It has been a great computer but last week the hard drive crashed.  I am presently out of the country and had to take the computer to have the drive replaced and my data recovered.  I use the computer for work every day so I couldn't send it in for repair.

My question is, now that I have the bad hard drive out of the computer, would it be possible to send it to Acer and get a replacement?  It would be great to at least be able to install a replacment hard drive and use the one I just bought as a backup in case anything happens again.

Thanks

Yes, you can normally contact Acer to have the defective hard drive swapped without sending in the entire unit.
