Aspire/Timeline M5-481TG webcam on Windows 8.1 no longer working

Hi,

I have an Aspire M5-481TG and the webcam was working fine on Windows 8. After updating to Windows 8.1 a few months ago, I did not test it and today was the first time I was going to use it and realised that it was not working. Under device manager, it is showing as 'SPCA2082 PC Camera' which looks like a generic driver and it doesn't work. I have tried uninstalling that driver, rebooting, then scanning for new hardware but each time, it just installs that non-functional driver. The first time I accessed device manager, I saw another greyed out device called 'HD Webcam' or something along those lines but that has since disappeared.

I formatted/repartitioned my hard drive a long time ago so eRecovery is no longer available. There does not seem to be any drivers available on the website either.

Any help/input would be greatly appreciated!
