lHi Folks, Can you help me with an issue... I have been using this laptop for sometime without issue and am using windows 7  Ultimate . At first I had issues with the icons when I opened a particular programme Icon I would get another programme?

Then I thought its just an error and undertook a restart ..then I got continous pinging , but windows launches after 30-45 seconds, but with some of the issues previously stated ... I then took out the ram and ensured they were clean and installed firmly and restarted , but the same issue continued ? I then cleaned the system and also checked for viruses but all came back clean. My next stage was to flash the bios and again still had the pinging ? Stumped on this I decided to take the laptop to a computer specialist , but only took the laptop and not the power supply ... when I got there I went to demonstrate the problem but couldnt ? I tried 5 times by closing down and restarting and all the icons worked with no bleeping , I couldnt believe it .. I took the laptop back at home plugged in the power supply and back came the bings and errors ? SO BY CHANCE it appears to be something to do with power ? I let the laptop run down a little and then undertook a restart ..NO Pinging ? so what is it ? any ideas ...the other issue I suffer with is when typing the cursor jumps to the top of the window I am typing in ? also when its having a fling when you scroll down it immediatly jumps back ...Its got me stumped !!! PS: I have also undertaken a restore to a previous date and still no go .. again I have used this laptop many times before with the same supply and no issues like this whatsoever !!!

    Hi quovadis

I think the obvious answer is to try a replacement charger - there sounds as if something isn't quite right with yours! Just make sure it has the same input/output as the original one.

As for the cursor "problem", check that the "Home" key isn't stuck - try a blast of compressed air to see if it helps.
