Just got Aspire XC-603G-UW12 and cpu fan is running 100%. Any Help??

I just bought this machine and the fan is running 100% after Win 8.1 updates. I installed all the newest drivers but the fan is still going @ 100%. I went into the BIOS and it's currently at 1600 rpm :-(

I'll probably end up returning this and stop buying Acer products.

Please don't post "just factory reset" because the point of getting a new pc was for auto updates (purchased for my parents).

Any help is appreciated.

I just bought the exact same model a week ago today. I haven't heard the fan at all! But then, my old 2002 Intel Pentium 4 on XP has always run the case and cpu fans constantly, no variation in RPM, as long as the machine is powered up. My son's Dell has always run the fan constantly too. So I'm not sure your new Acer is wrong to run the fan constantly. And maybe the machine which has an issue in this regard is MY new Acer????? Or maybe mine is just extremely quiet and yours has an out-of-balance noisy fan? I can't hear the hard drive either. It's the quietest desktop I've ever encountered. Maybe that's good, maybe it SHOULD make a little sound?
