Iconia B1-710 Won't Charge

Hi

I have 2 no. B1-710 tablets, bought just over 3 months ago.

One tablet started having charging issues about a week ago, taking ages to charge (all day!) whilst the other was fine.  Now the second tablet is doing exactly the same thing.  When they are plugged in they only get to 1% charge and no further.

We have tried swapping the power supplies over and using different wall sockets but nothing makes a difference.

It seems odd that both tablets are having this issue and both were bought at the same time.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi...:smileyhappy:

You may try performing a hardware reset, to do this, simply use a small, thin object, such as a paperclip, to press the recessed reset button located on the bottom of the tablet near the USB Port.

You may also try performing Factory Data Reset .
The following steps will erase all of your personal information, all stored contacts and any programs you have installed on your tablet.

    1. Power off the tablet.
    2. Press and hold the Volume up button, which is located closest to the touch screen lock switch.
    3. With the Volume up button held, press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds then release it. Continue holding the Volume up button.
    4. Once the tablet screen turns on, release the Volume up button.
    5. On the Select Boot Mode screen, select [SD Image Update Mode]. Use the Volume up and Volume down keys to navigate through the menus and use the Power button to select the desired option.
    6. On the Android system recovery screen, select wipe data/factory reset.
    7. When prompted to Confirm wipe of all user data, select Yes -- delete all user data.
    8. On the Android system recovery screen, select reboot system now. Your data will be erased.
    9. Your tablet will reboot and go to the Welcome screen. Follow the onscreen steps to setup your tablet.

I bought a B1-710 and had this problem from the moment of purchase.  Kept plugged in night after night after night.  The highest it got was 11% while plugged in but the moment I unplugged it it would ask to be plugged in again.  My personal opinion is that this tablet is a defective design and those who purchased one should be provided automatic refunds or replacements by non-defective tablets by Acer.

Returned from Acer repair today.  Mainboard and battery replaced.  Had enough charge after two weeks in Fedex trucks at winter temperatrues to boot.  Hopefully it will be ok now. It asked to be plugged in to charger.

I get the impression that the new mainboard was improved in other respects; for example, the speaker is louder. Is it possible that Acer improves their mainboards on different production runs?
