Aspire E1-572 -- Broken LCD Element

Hello!

I purchased an Aspire E1-572 (22/01/2014) with a Warranty Extension (3 Years Carry-In + International Travellers Warranty For Notebooks + Free Accidental Damage Coverage). The other day I tried to open the laptop from the right corner of the lid and as a result the screen cracked in that point. I had never experienced such an issue with my two previous laptops so I impute the failure to the poor quality of the plastic frame. On the Accidental Damage Coverage Terms and Conditions as accidental damage defined
"Any accidental, sudden and unforeseen damage to the Product by external means which affects the operational functioning of the Product"

I would strongly appreciate if anyone could inform me if this issue is covered by the extended warranty. Also if anyone knows how does it cost the replacement of the screen for the particular model.

Thank you in advance!
