Power Supply replacement

new power supply only has choices of 6-pin black & yellow wires it says is for PCI-E
old power supply had 12-pin wires [identical to ones running harddrive] attached to dvd/cd drive
do i hook up the 6 pin wires?

This 6 pin connector is for new Graphic Cards what need more juice.
