HELP! My desktop screen won't load Aspire 7750-6669 PLEASE HELP!

Last night I ran a PC Cleanup program on my Acer because someone suggested it would help with my laptop running slow. After running the program I had to restart the computer, and when I did, only the "Windows Starting" screen, then the "Acer Microsoft" screen (green page) came up. When the little green circle starts to boot up the desktop page with all my icons and "start" button on it, the screen goes black. Only the curser is on the screen. After letting it set for a half hour hoping it would eventually come up, the screen saver appears.  Someone please help me get my screen back so I can use my laptop! I am borrowing my neighbors computer to post this. I am disabled, and my laptop is my only link to civilization! I cannot afford to pay hundreds of dollars to buy a new one or pay for technical help on here. (Warranty expired 2 months ago) I have an Acer Aspire 7750-6669 laptop.

You may perform power drain to check the issue.

 

To perform a power reset:

1. Unplug the AC adapter from your notebook.
2. Turn the notebook over to remove the battery. Turn the notebook back over and open it.
3. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds, then release the power button.
4. Turn the notebook back over and slide the battery back into place.
5. Slide the lock tab back into the lock position.
6. Turn over the notebook one last time and plug in your AC adapter.
7. Turn on your notebook.

If the issue persists, you may restart the computer and then keep tapping the F8 key to enter Safe mode, and you need to perfiem a system restore to previous date the computer had worked fine.

 

System Restore affects Windows system files, programs, and registry settings. It can also make changes to scripts, batch files, and other types of executable files created under any user account on your computer. System Restore does not affect personal files, such as e-mail, documents, or photos, so it cannot help you restore a deleted file. If you have backups of your files, you can restore the files from a backup.

 

Before you start System Restore, save any open files and close all programs. System Restore will restart your PC.

1. Open System Restore by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type System Restore, and then, in the list of results, click System Restore.  If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

2. Follow the steps in the wizard to choose a restore point and restore your computer.
