Laptop Not Running Of Charger And Can't Enter Bios, Help!

Hi, I own an Acer Aspire 6935G, so far it's treated me well. Recently the charger port broke (One of the wires came loose). I brought a replacement and fitted it in, but the fuse on my charger blew!

I then brought another replacement just in case it was the previous replacement I'd bought and nothing major, the new replacement looks to be working fine (Charging lighs come on) but it's not holding any power in the laptop. The charging lights come on as stated, but the laptop won't make it past the Acer Splash screen. Due to the battery being dead I can't enter bios set up so I can't check the status of my laptop nor can I enter recovery. I was just wondering if it could be something else other than a hardware issue, and if it is; is it costly to get it fixed or am I better off buying a new laptop?

Edit: There's a prolomged beep sound when the chargers plugged into the lapto, if it makes a difference?

Sorry but it does indeed sound like a hardware issue. Also sounds like the power supply may be on the verge of blowing another fuse. I think you have a short or major current leakage somewhere that's preventing battery-charging and powering-on but maybe not quite enough (yet) to blow another fuse or extinguish the LEDs.

First remove the battery and power connections before tearing things apart. The first place I'd look is around the charging port socket where your problems started and hope it's not deeper into the system where it can cause MB or more serious damage. Look for places where solder lines on the system board might be touching a screw or a metal ground. While you're in there, reseat both ends of any accessible ribbon connectors (like the video and keyboard). Also re-seat the HDD, RAM modules and any other component connectors for good measure.

After you've checked everything out, and before you've reassembled all the covers and screws, see if you can carefully insert the battery into its receptacle and plug the charger in. Don't try to power on. You may want to do this on an insulating surface so as not to ground any bare conductors. Does the LED charge light look like it's charging? If so, let it continue to charge without attempting to power on. I would expect after 4-5 hours, the LED charge light would indicate a fully charged battery. If so, I would then attempt to power on. If not, and it's still seems to be charging, stop, don't try to power on and we'll plot the next steps.

What happens at the splash screen? Does it just remain on the screen and go no further? And pressing F2 does nothing? Is the prolonged beep sound coming from the charger or the computer or both? Do you hear any beep codes before the splash screen appears?

The laptops powering off at the splash screen, today it didn't even make it too the splash screen. The prolonged beep is coming from the laptop it self and the beeping sound starts as soon as the chargers plugged in.

I was in the midst of trying this as the reply was posted, seems like a screw was touching some metal on the mother board causing it to short every time the laptop was powered on, such a tiny thing caused so many problems! I took the laptop to 2 qualified electritions who boast laptop repair and they both passed it off as a motherboard malfunction and couldn't fix it! I've run in to the problem of windows being corrupted now unfortunately, going to attempt a system restore; if not I'll just reinstall windows. Thanks for the help guys! Much appreciated!
