Why can't my Acer Aspire 5336, burn cd / dvd ? I tried updating and uninstalling drivers ! I

Why can't my acer 5336 burn cd / dvd on secondary storage ( DVD/CD) , its either failing or just leaves the disc empty after a burn process has taken place . This is very frustrating !! Please help. I want my acer to burn CDs / DVDs . Properties of my acer 5336 : DVD/CD-ROM ( standard CD-ROM drivers).

    This can be a problem with the software you are using or the laser on the optical drive may no longer be working. I would recommend performing a factory restore and then try burning some files to a blank DVD-R/CD-RW. I would try copying some images and files just as a test.
