Aspire S7-391 Very different noise levels for i5 and i7

Just a warning to others, that the i7 version of the S7 is MUCH noisier than the i5. This is because the fan speed goes much higher. On the UK website, Acer quote the i5 as being cooled by an 1800rpm fan, whereas the i7 is 2600rpm.

For those concerned about noise, this may actually make the i5 version preferable, especially as the effective performance difference between the two is only 15%

I know exactly what you mean. What I would have liked is 256GB SSD and i5!

Just curious, how much of a difference does the Bios update make? also, is it harmful to the components since the fan settings are being changed? I really want to get the S7-391(i7) but the way people are complaining about the noise being riculously loud is a deal breaker for me. I can live with the battery life since the extended battery is finally available in the U.S. but the loud fan noise isn't something i want to compromise for that price. thanks in advance for any feedback given.
