Volume is now too low to be usable. I have checked connection etc. Settings are all at maximum. Been into properties etc, no problem seen there. This is a recent issue as sound was previously ok.

Monitor is Acer V273HL.

Keyboard is Acer SK9660 [volume button maximised].

Been through the skimpy manuals, reviewed the discussion forums.

HELP!!

    Hi PLW75

First thing I'd suggest as this is a recent issue, is to use System Restore, back to a date when the sound was working OK.

If this fails to work, connect a pair of headphones to see if the sound returns to it's former glory. It will also be worth trying external speakers too. Also, perform a reset on the monitor, just in case.

If you're still having sound issues, go to Device Manager & uninstall all audio devices. Restart your PC, and Windows will now re-install them. Once done, restart again - check the sound levels.

Finally, if it STILL isn't working, back up & reinstall Windows from your recovery partition or disks. Only then can we ascertain whether your sound card is at fault. If after a recovery, there are still issues, then a new sound card will solve the problem!
