Aspire V5 audio issues

I recently purchased an Aspire V5 and like so much about it....except the audio issues I am having. I get terrible feedback if I try to turn the volume up, but with the volume at the middle setting, I can barely hear anything.

Also, with Skype the person I am talking with says I fade out after about 20 seconds (which may be a Skype problem...I am delving into that).

So I am wondering if an external speaker and microphone connected via bluetooth might help the audio issue I am experiencing or are there some settings I need to adjust?

Thanks for any help!!!!

    Hi eliza899vt

Is this problem only happening when using Skype? I presume normal sound is OK when viewing or listening to other media?

Firstly, go to Control Panel & click on Sound. Next on the Playback tab click Properties, then click Levels. You will then have adjustments on the microphone. You may have to play around a bit to find the right setting.

If you can borrow another mic, do so - the one you have might be to sensitive.

You can certainly try an external bluetooth speaker & mic, if all else fails!

No, the problem is when I try to listen to anything, video clips from you tube or tv channels episodes. I get feedback if I turn the volume up. I also get feedback if I try to close the lid of the acer while the volume is on (not up loud, just simply on). It's a real problem. I will try messing around with the controls again....perhaps I messed them up somehow?

The Skype issue is totally seperate....and I think I am just going to have to get an exterior mic for that...maybe a mic / speaker combo....that is more of a fadeout...I think it has to do with Skype.

    Thanks again for the advice!

If you're still having problems, then contact support as your V5 is still under warranty.
