Acer W4, Make a Full Image, many questions

Since its not possible to take out the SSD and make an Image manually by Ghost or Acronis how do you do below:

0) I have understood that you can make a Recovery USB, basically so you can access the Tablet and perform certain operations if boot fails.

What I need is to:

1) Make a FULL Image on a untouched W4 (e.g. so I can return back to the original state with ALL partitions if I want to sell it)

2) Copy over the hidden Recovery partition to a USB disk to save space,e.g. the only partition left on the SDD should be "UEFI"? and the "C-drive"?

3) Delete all hidden partitions(incl Recovery partition) and THEN make a FULL image. This means that this new Image should only contain "UEFI"? and the "C-drive"?

When doing an Image I see that there is a "WindowsImageBackUp"folder created. If I do an new EXTRA Image, what happens with the old one, Is the backup incrimental or do you get a completely new Image(e.g "WindowsImageBackUp 2" -folder)

Can I move the "WindowsImageBackUp"folder to another Harddisk? ("WindowsImageBackUp"folder seems also to be empty but I am quite sure the backupfiles are there)

What software are you trying to do this with ?

I have always used a bootable flashstick with acronis on it. Backup all partitions in one go and hey presto.

Will need to use the newest version available though.

Hello Inspiratiion101, I too am interested in making an image of my W3 tablet. Have you used the Acronis software to make a Win 8 disk image? And have you done a recovery from that image?

""There is a limitation on using Acronis products on devices with 32-bit UEFI. It is possible to protect only non-system, non-locked files, partitions with Acronis software on 32-bit UEFI devices. An example of such devices are tablets with Intel® Atom™ Processor Z2760, which is 32-bit only.

However, you can still backup and restore files, folders and partitions that are not locked by the system or other applications. It is possible because such operations will not use Acronis bootable environment.

The reason for the limitation is that Acronis UEFI loader is an x86_64 UEFI application and requires 64-bit UEFI environment to run in.""

member Padgett has spoken about this issue. But basically You have to rely on the Acer system to restore the SSD and you can then use any Win software to backup your user files to any USB media or the SD card slot.
