Right shift blocks some combination keystokes

I have a new Acer Aspire V7-581PG.

If I hold right shift, press and hold the S key and then press the W key the W doesn't appear.

If I do the same with left shift then the W does appear.

I'm a developer I type a lot and quickly Smiley Happy  Its often the case that I try to type SW using right shift but press W before fully releasing S and hence no W comes out.  This is not the only combination that fails.

Is this the expected behaviour?

You must type incredibly fast indeed to get that happening.

I think if you experiment a little more you can do this with holding down keys other than the S key.  I found holding down any other key will cause 1 key in close proximity to show the same issue.  Most likely down to the way the hardware is wired and I would consider this to be normal behaviour.

Having just amused myself trying on 2 other computers with this and finding same scenario I think this is not a fault but a behavioural issue.

Yes agreed.   More details are on http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questions/6669/how-do-i-remove-the-limit-on-pc-keyboard-button-presses.

Strange that I never had a noticeable issue before on my previous (acer) laptop.  I tried it on that old laptop just now and, yes, has the same problem.

Somehow the keyboard on the V7-581PG (which actually I like very much in every other respect) seems more likely to expose the problem for me when I'm typing rapidly.

    Oh well.
