Updating my 5733Z

I have Internet Explorer 9 on my 5733Z using Windows 7 Home Premium. When I run Microsoft Update it shows IE 9 and IE 11 as a update option. That is strange that it shows a IE 9 upgrade when it is already installed. Anyhow trying to install either of these fails. I have downloaded the standalone installer of both of these and those fail. I have followed several Microsoft forum tip and suggestions and they have all not worked.

Another problem that may or not be related is that I have tried to update my Windows 7 Home Premium to Professional doing a clean install. That also fails. After several hours of hanging I just gave up and did a Acer restore and got my system back to factory defaults. Even after doing this IE 9, 10 or 11 will not install.

Anyone else having this problem? There has been some error codes generated when using Microsoft Update but don't have them now. Researching these codes and following the suggestions related to it did not provide a resolution.

It seems to be a hardware issue because of doing a clean install there should not be any software that would conflict because I did a deletion of the partition and a format before doing the clean install.

This has been going on for months. Please help. I need Windows 7 Profession to connect with a domain.

    After you restored the system to Acer's default load and settings, did you try performing all important and critical updates? Once you complete those then you may be able to update IE to 9. Also make sure you are getting the correct version for you system; ie. 32bit or 64bit depending on the version of the operating system you have installed.
