    Hi Thedeathofxp

As far as I'm aware, Chrome OS can't be downloaded as such, it is only preinstalled on Chromebooks.

I'd suggest downloading a Linux distro, like Mint, which is relatively user friendly, and much like Windows in use.

    Hope this helps

Wondering if Acer was going to give use a upgrade to 7 home (starter),for a good deal...

That's a nice thought, but I don't think Microsoft are still issuing licences for 7 Starter!

Depending on the spec of your PC, you might well be able to use Windows 7 Home premium. Check out the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to find out.

Ya ran the upgrade test ,7 will work but can't find a download or usb drive to upgrade . Can't upgrade to 8 ,ram is to low. I own 4 Acer's 1 latop with xp pro ,2 netbooks , xp (home or starter) ,7 (home or starter) and nettop with 7/64 bit . When vista turned out to be a dog  ,MS gave out upgrades to 7 for $20 ,wish they would do that for old xp user's .

That is a great idea, and would certainly help encourage people off XP, but I can't see Microsoft doing it. Not yet anyway.

You could still buy a Windows 7 disk and put it on a USB stick. All you need is a PC with an optical drive.

usb DVD drive would work better ,sometimes things get lost in the transfer of OS to thumb drives . W7 starts at $110 ,but really xp runs better on netbooks . I thinking after the last update on April 8th ,I'll just keep using xp until I get hit with malware...(:

Ah well, lets hope that's later rather than sooner!

You may wish to install a Linux Distro, instead of XP. Linux Mint has similar features to XP, but there are others you may be interested in....

ya i looked at mint (thanks for the link) and your right about chrome not working on AOA 150 ,it needs ARM chip ,Broadcom makes mini pci ,that will upgrade AOA 150 Atom chip ,but because of high demand the price has doubled to $60 if you can find one . Back in 2008 they were only $26 and fixed the video stream problem . Intel fixed it with D257-1814 my other netbook. Over 300 million xp cp's still running ,this could be a game changing moment for Open S os ,if someone like Redhat marketed it strating April 1st.

That's high demand for you - guaranteed to push up the price....
