Why can't I get product information on Travelmate TimelineX 8573-9627? Acer removed it.

I've been wanting to buy an Acer Travelmate Timeline X 8573-9627 since last April, but haven't gotten any help either from Acer or from the vendors to verify if when I buy the machine, I not the vendor, get to choose whether to boot it in 32-bit or 64-bit the first time.  I understand that it's dual-hotload, so if I ever chose 64-bit, I would lose everythihg on the machine 'belonging' to the 32-bit choice.

BUT THEN SUDDENLY ACER REMOVES THE PRODUCT FROM ITS WEBSITE, I want to say sometime last September.  And the Acer site is the most annoying for navigation, and for help, as it always demands some serial number.  So I'm forced to come here and ask this most basic question:  WHERE IS THE PRODUCT INFORMATION ON THE WEBSITE, WHY WAS IT REMOVED?  For removal implies a recall.

Sorry to vent, and thank you for your time.

Thank you, Joshua.  I knew that much already, but can't find any product page in Acer on that model.  The link you sent me didn't have that model listed no matter what I picked.  Which is really distressing, as I'm a big Acer fan.  I LOVE my Aspire A0A 150 netbooks, and frankly they do well to replace my desktop computers, even on their skinny specs.  They outperform any tablet, any day, and I don't have to put up with ugly and dysfunctional, Windows8.

So I wanted the 8573-9627, so I could dual boot it with Linux (it's compatible with Linux, see this link from LinuxLap).  That way I could weather out the furor of Win8 until a more sane version comes out, or migrate to Linux gradually.  Alas, I can't get the vendors to assure me that I and not them, get to pick 32-bit upon initial bootup.  I don't want to go to 64-bit until later, as my business is built around DOS, since Lotus 1-2-3 for DOS outperforms anything Excel can even dream of, for actuarial calculations.

Acer won't let me configure the machine to buy from them, so I'm stuck with the vendors.  Dell's closest approximation is some version of Precision workstation, but they won't let me buy more than 4GB of RAM if I want 32-bit Win7 Pro.  So you see, I'm stuck.

    Thank you anyway. Smiley Happy
