I get code 3 and none of my USB ports work. Synaptics driver v.17.0.12.60

Downloaded v.17.0.19, uninstalled and deleted old drivers, and rebooted. Wont use the new drivers and puts everything back to the same as it was, even doing manual install. what am I missing?

Erecover Win7 home premium. Then install WinXP pro as a virtual guest machine using VMWare's  Player freeware. I'm now running WinXP this way, as well as SuSE Linux and Win98SE, as guests on this Win7 home premium AO722 netbook.

That's an interesting idea I have never heard of, but I dont know if erecovery is an option I can utilize. I will look into this, thank you!

I bought a recovery disc- yay! I was not aware of that option. My recovery partition was erased and of course I did not have a recovery disc. Thank you for that info

How did your recovery partition get deleted?

I turned my friend loose on it because I didn't have time to do the switch myself. She assumed because I wanted XP to replace 7 that I didn't need to keep the recovery partition, so she deleted it.
