My aspire v5 122p will not come on. Turned the computer off, try to restart it. No I but a blue light. I held the power button down for 60 seconds, and waited five minutes later the Acer logo pops up. Keep waiting, now forty five minutes later, still the Acer logo. Nothing else. Please help!

    Hi rachelaspire!

Make sure there is nothing attached to your laptop, IE USB memory sticks, SD cards or any USB peripherals. Once all is removed, try to restart.

Also, when trying the power button for 60 seconds trick, remove the battery first.

    Hope this helps!

You cannot take the battery out of this laptop.  My son's laptop Aspire V5-122P-0408 is fully charged but will not turn on at all.

In laptops, where the battery cannot be removed, there is a battery reset "pinhole". Use a paperclip to reset.

Sounds like your fault goes a little deeper. It will need looking at, so if you're covered under warranty, contact support for your region to arrange a repair. If you're out of warranty, contact a local repair store.

Had same problem. When acer page comes on and before little turning circle at bottom goes off and screen goes black - move your finger up and down the touch screen from side to side . Sounds bizarre but it worked for me. Laptop now turns on normally. Did a Nortan scan straight away - nothing abnormal found
