Yesterday, I placed an order for Acer Aspire E1-571 powered by intel i7 3632qm processor.

Link of the product I've purchased,

This processor supports intel VT-D technology i.e. Direct I/O for virtualization or hardware virtualization, but from forums and other sources it seems that the provided motherboard doesn't support this.

Any idea whether this system is capable of using hardware virtualization or VT-D technology?

Also, any idea on the motherboard chipset number and the BIOS version used in this laptop?

If this system is unable to perform direct I/O then I'm in a dilemma to cancel the order.

According to what I can tell, the system must meet these criteria:

    • Windows 8 or 8.1 Professional or Enterprise only
    • 4 GB of RAM
    • A 64-bit processor that can support Second Level Address Translation (SLAT).  You can run a utility like Coreinfo to find out if SLAT is supported on your machine.

Beyond that I would not have a better answer because we do not ship our units with Pro or Enterprise. I can tell you if the system comes with the hardware all you would need is the software and it should work.
