    Hello,

To enter in Bios Setup Utility:

When you see the Acer screen, press F2.

1- Note the HDD model name (information tab)

2- Press F9 to load default settings

3- Press F10 to save and exit the bios setupt utility

Your laptop will restart automatically. Normally, you'll hear only one bip.

If the result is same, send me the HDD model to give you a diagnostic tool.

    Hello,

I don't know if you have access to the boot menu (F12).

If you have access, you can try to test your HDD with Seatools for DOS.

    Link software: SeaTools

Link guide: SeaTools for DOS Guide

"SeaTools for DOS is a comprehensive, easy-to-use diagnostic tool that

helps you quickly determine what is preventing you from accessing data

on your desktop or notebook computer. It includes several tests that

will examine the physical media on your Seagate or Maxtor disc drive

    and any non-Seagate disc drive."

    Hello,

1- Download, install and use FlashBoot (Demo) (easy to use) to convert the image file to bootable USB.

2- Boot on USB key (When you see Acer screen, press F12 - Boot Menu --> Choice USBHDD).

    3- Run the basic tests.

hello! thanx for helping me kindly tell what size of usb should be either 2 GB or 4GB?

    Hello,

An usb key of 2 GB is more than enough. Personaly, I work with an old usb key of 128 MB (only for DOS)!

Use Flashboot because you'll need it to prepare the test of memory (may be).

Otherwise, have you the possibility to connect a monitor on the netbook. In this case, you'll be able to know if it's a default of internal display (netbook).

Note:  <Fn> + <F5> - Display toggle - Switches display output between the display screen, external monitor (if connected) and both.

    Hello,

I tested this solution an it works perfectly! Same quality of test. No mouse pointer.

    Tools and file:

1- Download the file Seatools for dos version V1.12 (Text) - ISO CD-ROM IMAGE: SeaToolsDOS112.ISO

2- Download ISO Toolkit (portable version - no install): ISOToolkit.zip

3- You need Win32 Disk Imager (portable version - no install). You have it.

    Procedure:

1- Format your USB key with the Windows Disk Manager in FAT32.

2- Execute ISO Toolkit --> Extract image tab, you extract SeaToolsDOS112.ISO in a folder.

    3- In this folder, rename SeaTools.ima --> SeaTools.img

4- Execute Win32 Disk Imager, write Image File: SeaTools.img (new one) on your usb key.

Normally, you'll find these files and folder on your USB key:

    Image-1.jpg

5- Boot on your USB key (personally, I see it like a removable device - FDD)

6- Make Short (touch S) and Long (touche L) test only.

7- To quit the program CTRL+ALT+DEL to reboot.

    Hello,

In your bios setup utility, F12 boot menu is disabled by default.

So you can change the value in enabled to access the differents devices.

It wasn't necessary to install Plop boot manager.
