Installing cd games from disc problems

Hi

 

I have only had this computer since christmas.  It is quite difficult to get used to Window's 8 but I have muddled through so far.

 

I am having a problem trying to Install a Game on D drive.  The autoplay opens, I tap the Install cue and get the "allow Rungame.exe."  then nothing happens??

 

There are tons of apps for games and downloads, however, we live in the country with a mifi (wifi) connection which is too slow for most games.  I tried to purchase and download a game but it was going to take 70. hrs to download, so now i want to install games I have on discs.

 

Help please, thanks for reading.

Is it only the one disk that won't install, or can't you install any game from the disks?

 

If it is only just the one, it could be something like:

 

1. The disk might be badly worn/scratched and therefore cannot be read by the drive.

2. The game may not be compatible with Windows 8 - especially if it is an older game.

 

You could contact the manufacturer to see if it was ever updated!

 

If it is all your games/disks that can't install, then you may have an issue with the optical (DVD) drive itself.
