Aspire 5600u Touch: How to disable Deep sleep mode. NIC not displaying

Hello,

Just got an Aspire 5600u touchscreen computer.

The system went into sleep mode, on resumption I observed the NIC was not seen anymore.

Checked 'Device Manager' and observed it was not listed there anymore

Downloaded the Realtek driver to reinstall, BOOM! " Remove NIC from Deep sleep Mode'

Checked online forums to

1. Reset the motherboard by removing the RAM ( Not an option for me, it is a touch screen computer)

2. Restart the PC, Plug new hardware (Nothing came up)

Any ideas pls.

Thanks

So you have went into Device Manager, then selected your NIC card and disabled the option "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" under the Power Management tab?

The driver you downloaded, was it from Acer's support site for your model and operating system? Also have you upgrade or changed the operating system? If so did this problem persist before the upgrade/update?

If you disabled the option to turn off the NIC while sleep/hibernate and did not change the operating system, I would recommend reloading your Acer computer using the built-in recovery management. This is a last resort but your problem could be software related and best fix would be reloading to rule out that problem. If the problem persists repair would be your next option.
