I have an Aspire 6930G. Original OS was Windows Vista. I upgraded to Windows 7 with no issues. Eventually decided to install a larger hard drive. No problem with installation and continued to use Windows 7, but since the hard drive switch wireless does not work. Checked divice manager and the driver (Intel R WiFi 5100) is there and it says it iw working properly. Have tried reinstalling the driver several times, but when I try to go wireless, no networks are detected and trouble shooter says that there is an issue with the network adapter. Ethernet cable functions normally.
If I put the original hard drive back in, wireless works fine. My guess is there is a software problem or a driver problem, but I can't pin it down. There is someting on old drive and not on the new drive that is allowing teh wireless to work properly. Any suggestions or ideas?
