CP Port Acer R7 572 - is it standard ?

I need to have Ethernet port and I am really amazed that a loptop dont have Ethernet port, I didnot even checked till i needed to use it. I never seen any laptop without it, especialy +15" laptops, really surprising. 

 

I saw on Acer store that there is an adptor but **bleep** it will cost me 58 dollars tax and shiiping in, just to have an ethernet port   and I dont want to get that USB converter over ebay as it will use 1 of USB port and this thing only have 3 USB port.   Why so less ports while there is no Optical drive etc.. could have given some ports at least, seem like odd choice to limit the usage for +1000 dollars laptop.

 

Anyway enough of rage lol, now to my question, is this CP  port standard mini diplay port ? like thunderbolt ?  Can i use any cable or I am force to get Acer adopter to make it work ?
