Aspire One AO533 RAM Upgrade

I have an Aspire AO533-13509 with Windows 7 Starter and from new this Aspire is slow. As a result it's use has been very little. I decided to see if there were any solutions and other than settings and tweaks I found on the internet of which didnt really do much, one suggestion was upgrade the RAM from 1GB to 2GB. Acer will only sell me a 1GB module and because of this I am now trying to find the exact type of 2GB I need. This Aspire One 533 is the N455 1.66GHz with DDR3 Memory and some websites mention use the high density not low, use the RAM with 4 chips per side, not 8 etc. The RAM installed from new is Kingston with 1GB 1Rx8 PC3-10600S on one tag and KN1GB070040231E7B21601 on another tag. I contacted Kingston for an actual part number and their response was this RAM was discontinued on 7/11/2013 and Kingston no longer supports the Acer Aspire One 533 on 7/22/2013. I requested an actual part number as well as the complete specs on this RAM so I can find Kingston RAM exactly like this except a 2GB from a local source or a different brand that will work! They were not able to give me this information.

My question is exactly what kind do I need?? All I know is it is DDR3 204 pin, but do I use high or low density?  Non ECC? Buffered or unbuffered? It was a miserable enough to take this computer apart in an attempt to find some sort of a part number but a google seach of the number on the tag came up with nothing. Also how much of an improvement can I expect with 2 gigs? I also removed the McAfee which helped and installed different Anti Virus software that wasnt such a resource hog. It takes 10+ seconds for Microsoft Outlook and 10-15 seconds for Internet Explorer to fully open and it's very common for programs to hang up for long periods of time with the not responding indicator showing when a program is opened or started. Perhaps this Aspire was a dud from day one and I should have returned it or sent it away for possible warranty, or is Windows 7 to demanding for this Notebook? I have seen these with Linpus Lite or Windows XP and they seemed to perform quite well and extremely well for the Linpus Lite Linux. Or is Windows 7 just a sweeter tasting lemon compared to Vista? Has anybody upgraded this Aspire533 to Windows 8 ?

If I possibly have defective RAM how can it be tested? Keep in mind I do not have a CD Rom to boot up with so the RAM testing software would have to be on a USB stick or software run on Windoze.
