Trouble using wi-fi hotspot device

I recently got a wi-fi hotspot device so I could use me table at home where I don't yet have internet access but I'm having problems with it. It connects with no problem and get all the normal updates but when I try to do anything that use the internet it reports either network certification errors or server errors. I just don't get it. I know it's connecting to the device and getting things over the internet in the backround (like notifications of new messages, breaking news stories on fox, even automatically downloading ap updates) but if I click the Google play store is spins that ring around for a minute and then reports an errorl. I click on my browser or Flixster or Kindle or anything else that requires internet access and it won't go there. Any ideas?

I am wondering if your connection is not stable enough to allow the streaming necessary when you are using a web browser. Are you using a mobile phone as a hotspot ?

There is a possibility that the software you use for the mobile hotspot is using a secure connection to a proxy server that has issues with it's certificate. If so I'd expect the certificate errors to not match the website you are trying to use. Are they errors that point to the hotspot software or are they errors that point to the website?

I don't think that is it. First, as I said it uses the device to download updates and notifications when I first turn it (the tablet) on, it just won't use it to open things like Google Play or the Kindle ap or a browser, etc. At first I thought might be because the signal was weak in my apartment but I tried it sitting outdoors at the coffee shop up the street where I get a solid 5 bars on the device the problem with the same.

Well, hot spot device is a stand-alone device and doesn't run any software. Also, I should note that it works just fine with my computers running W7 and W8 (a bit slow at times but it works with no problems). The service provider for the device (Freedom Pop) hasn't been able to come up with a solution but if I can't figure this out, I'll be cancelling the service since I got it so I could have access at home.

Just an update. To date nothing has resolved this problem. The service providers don't have a clue and have only suggested I try things I already tried. On the other hand, I contacted Acer customer support and am going to be sending them the tablet so they can check it out to see if there is a problem with it. I'm not hopeful about this since the tablet works fine with the wifi at the coffee shop up the street, just not with the hotspot device. It just annoys me that I can't have the convience of be able get full use out of the tablet at home.
